Yeager Stadium, is located on the campus of Miami University, in Oxford, OH. The Stadium was renovated prior to the 2004 season. The multi-phase renovation included the replacement of the old scoreboard with a new scoreboard, videoboard, ad panels and sound system; it also included the construction of the Cradle of Coaches Plaza to the south of the stadium. The second phase consisted of installing permanent field lighting to the stadium. The third phase which was completed prior to the 2005 opener involved the removal of the east stands and replacing them with newer stands, concession booths, and restrooms. The south stands in front of the new scoreboard were also demolished. Field Turf was also installed prior to the 2002 season.
Along with being one of the league's newer stadiums, Yeager is the 7thlargest in the Mid-American Conference with a capacity of 30,012. Prior to the 1995 season, the capacity was 25,183. Completed in 1983, the stadium is named in honor of Fred C. Yager, a 1914 Miami graduate who generously supported the stadium project.
A total of 28,230 fans jammed Yager Stadium for the Dedication Game against Western Michigan on Oct. 1, 1983. That number stood as the benchmark prior to 1997.
On Oct. 2, 1999, a record-setting crowd of 30,087 witnessed Marshall defeat the RedHawks 35-14. That broke the former record of 29,027, set two years earlier in a 45-21 win over Marshall. In an eight-day span in 1997, with back-to-back games against the Herd and Cincinnati, Yager Stadium amassed 56,729 fans, the largest two-consecutive game total in Miami history.
The "Cradle of Coaches" Room is located on the second level inside the Stadium, along with the football offices, meeting rooms and locker rooms for other sports.
