Stephen Schott Stadium opened on April 30, 2005 at a cost of $8.6 million. The state-of-the-art facility includes reserved theater style as well as general admission bleacher seating, fully compliant ADA seating, a 600 square-foot press box and 700 square-foot VIP / stadium suite. The 6,800-square-foot home dugout and clubhouse features a training room, equipment storage, team room and a beautiful locker room. The hitting center has four full-size batting cages.
The Stadium is named for Stephen A. Schott, former owner and managing partner of the MLB Oakland Athletics and president and owner of Citation Homes a Santa Clara residential builder whose $4 million lead gift solidified the funding for the stadium. Schott, a former member of the University's Board of Trustees is a 1960 SCU alumnus and was a pitcher for the Broncos.
