The University of South Carolina is located in Columbia, South Carolina. Its mascot is the Gamecocks. South Carolina's major rivals are Clemson ("Battle for the Palmetto State") and Georgia. South Carolina has smaller but growing rivalries with Tennessee and Arkansas. Historically, South Carolina's rivals have included North Carolina and NC State.
