This is traveling trophy that is awarded to the winner of the most athletic contests between North Carolina & Duke The Carlyle Cup competition officially began in the 2000/2001 season, and Duke was able to capture the first Carlyle Cup. So far, ownership of the Cup has been fairly even, with Duke winning it for three years, and UNC the other three years.
