Brice-Cowell Musket
From NCAA Wiki
The Brice-Cowell Musket is a Traveling trophy awarded to the winner of the Maine vs. New Hampshire football game. The Series has been a highly-contested series between these two long-time rivals, as UNH leads the series a 44-43-8. The series began back in 1903 and Maine won the first meeting 10-0 score.
At stake in this game is ownership of the Brice-Cowell Musket, which is awarded annually to the winner of the UNH/Maine game. It is named after William Cowell, former head coach at UNH from 1915 until 1936 and Fred Brice, head coach at Maine from 1921 until 1940. The musket is a flintlock rifle made by Ebeneezer Nutting of Falmouth, ME. This tradition began in the late 1940s."
